PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Dynamic Axial Compression Column System (DAC)
The DAC column has been developed for production or research and can be charged automatically.
The DAC column compresses the column bed with a hydraulic cylinder.

◈ Design specification
The DAC (dynamic axial compression) column adopts latest design by YJB. The piston of column always produces a stable pressure on packing bed
which can effectively prevent the collapse and loose of the column bed.
The Characteristic of DAC column:
- 1) Short length, Large inner diameter.
- 2) Small packing material particle size, Narrow distribution.
- 3) Packing process.
The length of the preparative column is similar with the analysis column, about 20cm to 50cm. It is far shorter than the open column which length is
always more than 1m. Besides, its inner diameter is 50mm to 1000mm, so there will be no high pressure at high flow rate, the separation cycle of the
pure material will be shorter and the yield will be higher.
We can get higher column efficiency by using 10-20μm spherical porous packing material with narrow pore and particle size distribution instead of the
big particle size（40-200μm）irregular one with wide distribution to pack the preparative column. Usually the theory plate can reach 20000 per meter
It is difficult to packing a column more than 50mm by high pressure slurry packing method, in order to pack small particles into larger preparative
column evenly, we always use column bed compression technique. As the DAC columns have been applied more each day in preparative chromatography, more and more research is concerned with the DAC performance and reproducibility, the result is the column efficiency is influenced by packing material character, slurry solvent character, pressure etc.
◈ Feature
- Distribution plates and collecting plates have been developed with independent design and special processing techniques.
As a result, the column performance is excellent. - A typical prep HPLC column may cause void due to long time use. However, the DAC column does not produce void because the piston head compresses the column bed to a constant pressure at all times.
So the performance of the column is long maintained. - Using an instrument that automatically supplies slurry, column packing can be done automatically.
- Power sources can use compressed air and electricity. Pneumatic pumps can maintain column performance for a long time because it compress the column bed with the pump pressure.
An explosion-proof electric drive motor may be used if the noise is annoying. - Packing using a pneumatic pump in a DAC column with a diameter of more than 800mm takes a long time to pack because there are limitations in flow rate and pressure.
However, the hydraulic station can quickly packing the column. And after packing, use a pneumatic pump to maintain pressure.

Introduction
Youngjin Biochrom Co., Ltd. was founded in 1993 with a focus on chromatography in the biotech and analytical chemistry industries. Biochrom is portmanteau between biotech and chromatography.
During this period, we learned separation technologies and realized that R&D was the key for our business growth.
As a result, Youngjin Biochrom research center was established in April 2004. Since then we successfully developed and improved HPLC column resins and column packing technology for the first time in Korea in 2008.
To date, we sell our products branded INNO and AEGISPAK in Korea and export our products to the United States, Japan, China, and India since 2012.
Collaborating with SBA, Preparative HPLC hardware and columns were developed in 2011 and introduced for the first time in the Korean market.
Our various preparative HPLC columns come in several different diameters ranging from 50 mm to 800 mm, giving more selective options to a customer. Along with HPLC columns, we also developed and introduced a pulse free high-pressure metering pump in 2014. In 2015, we also developed completely non-metallic pulse free high-pressure metering pumps.
We believe focusing on R&D will increase customer satisfaction, as we like to exceed customer expectations in both the quality and service of our products.
